Scott Arnold, senior vice president and chief information officer of Tampa General Hospital (TGH), has been recognized as a 2018 CIO of the Year Honoree from the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
Scott joined Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in 2010, and his first assignment was the largest technology implementation in the hospital’s history. Over the past eight years, his information technology team has earned numerous awards for health information technology, including:
- The HIMSS Stage 7 Award, issued to less than 5% of all US hospitals
- Hospital and Health Networks “Most Wired – Advanced” recognition
- One of “Best Hospital IT Departments” by Healthcare IT News
Since 2010, TGH has been moving to a highly digital and consumer-friendly platform, introducing and developing mobile strategies for its caregivers and patients, including the use of its mobile app, TGH GO, which patients can use to schedule appointments, access test results, and even have a virtual doctor’s appointment via video chat.
Congratulations to Scott for this recognition and his continued success leading the change in technology at TGH!
